MEET PIXIE

CREATIVITY - INTEGRITY - EXPERIENCE

As an experienced community activist/organizer, who brings more than 12 years of dedicated service to Northwest Pasadena and District 1, I have a proven track record for creating meaningful partnerships in order to produce effective plans/projects that increase investment of our community members.

I have served on numerous City of Pasadena and Pasadena Unified School District Taskforces, Commissions, and Committees since 2002 that have had a positive, long-lasting impact in our community. Being dedicated to public service in Pasadena, I have also worked on several boards and served in a leadership role with the ACLU Pasadena, the Latino Heritage Association, Women at Work, and the Northwest Commission just to name a few. I have built strong relationships within Pasadena that will support my grassroots efforts to each common goals.

My campaign speaks of giving a voice to those who have had little input or impact to the current city policies that govern their lives. I intend to change this in our community and will work with other Council members to do the same. This is more than just a ‘campaign’ focus for me; it has been and continues to be the type of service I provide to our community.

I'm focused on reducing the violence in our community, increasing affordable housing options, supporting and promoting living wage ordinances, developing plans to address police/community relationships and structures, bring new economic development and vocational education opportunities to District 1. What sets this campaign apart is that we will be targeting our community’s young adult population which has been traditionally ignored, underserved, and forgotten over the years. I firmly believe that providing alternatives and options to this population will significantly improve the quality of life of the district as a whole. This generation is one that will produce the City’s future leadership and it is the community’s obligation to support, encourage, and train them to be prepared.
